Carole Waller is a talented fine art abstract painter whose choice of medium is fiber-responsive pigment and cloth. She has done large abstract installations, and clothing for decades. She resides and works in her studio in Bath, England, working close to her ceramics artist husband, Gary Wood. We’ve had a long and admiring relationship with Carole.
During the pandemic lockdown, Carole found herself gazing out her windows at home, regarding the trees and landscape that made up her view. This imagery has made its way into a set of her garments, “View from Here”, with stylized wispy trees being screened onto her crepe silks and linen fabrics, then handpainted. This red, hot pink, and blues and yellows shirt reflect some of that imagery.
• Abstract painted and handprinted color block silk crepe long shirt
• Inverted pleat in back with back yoke
• Electric blue, yellows , green, touches of pinkish-red and orange
•32″ long, 50″ around at bust and hips, deep side vents, best fits sizes 10-14
• Long sleeves, fold-down or stand collar, buttons down
Wash by hand, hang to dry or dry clean
