GUPTIHA is a new brand created as a collaboration between an Indian craft team and a Japanese creative with whom we’ve worked (he founded Vlas Blomme before selling it to his employees in 2023).
The brand’s manufacturing process emphasizes traditional Indian handicrafts, and is manufactured there. Drawing upon techniques across the ages, but introduced in new forms that are more Japanese in nature, a new brand emerges. The clothing improves with wear.
The name of the brand means “something unknown and not well known yet”, and has a Scandinavian/Japanese “rustic”/romantic feel, while being very sophisticated.
