Lora Nikolova was born in Bulgaria, and developed her talents in set design and fine art through studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan. Her education continued through her work in set design for cinema and television, followed by collaborations in fashion, working with Jil Sander, Burberry and Versace. Additional work with the theater tailor factory Sartoria Brancato in Milan, creating theater costume and paper–mâché masks for world famous performances. Her own artwork involves painting and graphic drawing with surreal themes. She said that her greatest passion is in the creation of art jewelry. Her work is reminiscent of Calder sculpture, and uses glass, acrylic, metal and wood beads; these are balanced geometry, a celebration of color and the self-expression of the colorful wearer.
